Today, the Erie SeaWolves try to remain tied atop the Western Division in the series finale against the Trenton Thunder at UPMC Park. Two nights ago, Erie overtook Bowie for sole possession of first place in the second-half standings with a 4-2 win. Alex Faedo tossed a quality start and Chace Numata delivered a three-run homer as Erie won its 13th game in 17 days. Matt Manning takes the mound for the 'Wolves and is making his third start of the season against Trenton. In his previous two, Manning is 2-0 and has allowed one earned run in 11 innings with 13 strikeouts. The right-hander has allowed multiple earned runs in five of his past six starts and owns a 4.38 ERA across 12.1 innings in the month of July. Rony Garcia goes for Trenton and has lost seven of his past eight starts with the Thunder. The right-hander made his Double-A debut against Erie on April 28 at ARM & HAMMER Park and pitched five scoreless innings with a season-high eight strikeouts. Despite a 1-3 record, Garcia has logged a 2.45 ERA in four July starts (25.2 innings). The 21 year old was an international free agent signing by New York in 2015.
