ERIE, Pa. - Thunder bats fell silent on Monday afternoon at UPMC Park in a 7-0 series-finale loss to the Erie SeaWolves.

The Thunder (17-22, 55-49) managed just three hits, all singles, off Matt Manning (8-4) in his seven innings of work. The right-hander retired 15 of the first 17 batters he faced and allowed just five baserunners.

Rony Garcia (2-10) lasted just four innings for the Thunder, allowing three runs over his first two frames. The right-hander faced runners in scoring position in both the third and fourth, but escaped both jams unscathed, including a bases-loaded situation in the third. Garcia threw 89 pitches over his four frames.

Erie's Jose Azocar hit a solo home run onto the roof of Erie Insurance Arena next door with two out in the first and Cam Gibson led off the bottom of the second with a homer to right-center. Sergio Alcantara added an RBI-single later in the second to give the SeaWolves (28-10, 59-45) a 3-0 lead.

Neither team scored again until the eighth. James Reeves kept the game within reach for the Thunder, tossing three innings of scoreless relief, walking a season-high three batters but striking out six and allowing just one hit.

But with Brooks Kriske on the mound for the Thunder in the bottom of the eighth, Isaac Paredes stepped to the plate with runners on the corners and delivered an RBI-single, and Azocar followed with his second home run of the game, a three-run shot to right field. The four runs allowed were a career-high for Kriske.

Your Thunder return home Tuesday to face the Altoona Curve. At 5 p.m., the two teams will resume their suspended game from May 30 with Altoona leading 6-0 in the third inning. After the completion of the suspended game, the two teams will play an additional seven-inning game. Gates open at 5:30 p.m. Tickets are available by phone at 609-394-3300 or online at TrentonThunder.com.
