Tonight, the SeaWolves continue a six-game homestand as they look to extend their longest winning streak of the season taking on the Harrisburg Senators (Washington Nationals) in the opener of a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the SeaWolves won their sixth straight game with a 12-2 drubbing of the New Britain Rock Cats. It was the first time Erie swept a series in 2011. The win also puts the 'Wolves at three games under .500 at 54-57. Erie is currently the hottest team in the league with the league's longest current winning streak...The SeaWolves have struggled against the Senators. Harrisburg has taken five of the first seven games of the season series over the SeaWolves...Tonight, lefty Drew Smyly makes his second Double-A start and his first against the Senators. Smyly was impressive in his first start at Akron. Smyly earned a win in his first Double-A start on July 30 at Akron. He shut out the Aeros for seven innings, allowing four hits with two walks and eight strikeouts. Erie won the game 5-0...The Senators counter with righty Tanner Roark making his 16th start and second against the SeaWolves. Roark beat the SeaWolves on June 5 at Metro Bank Park tossing seven innings, allowing three runs on four hits with four walks and three strikeouts. Roark has won back-to-back start.s He allowed three runs on four hits with four walks and three strikeouts in 6.1 innings in his last start against Binghamton...The SeaWolves are home until Sunday before departing for New Hampshire.
