Trenton Thunder News Release

(Trenton, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, announce that C Austin Romine has been placed on the Disabled List. In a corresponding move, LHP Wilkins Arias has been activated from the Disabled List. The moves leave the Thunder 24-man active roster at its maximum capacity.

Romine, the sixth-ranked prospect in the Yankees' system according to Baseball America, is batting .283 with five homeruns and 44 runs batted in. The Thunder catcher has not been in the lineup since Tuesday, nursing a sore back.

Arias will return to the Thunder bullpen for the first time since June 21. On the season, the Dominican native is 3-0 with a 2.55 ERA in 20 appearances.

The Thunder will begin a brief three-game series with the Altoona Curve at Blair County Ballpark on Friday night at 7:00 PM. The Thunder will send LHP Steve Garrison (3-7, 6.43) to the mound, while the Curve will counter with RHP Kyle McPherson (5-3, 2.88). The SBLI Pre-Game Show with Hank Fuerst and Ben Youngerman begins at 6:45 PM. Tune-in to the game on 91.3 WTSR and online at trentonthunder.com.
