Tonight, the SeaWolves begin an eight-day, seven-game homestand as they take on the Bowie Baysox (Baltimore Orioles) in the opener of a three-game series at Jerry Uht Park...The SeaWolves are coming off a road trip that saw the club go 2-4. Erie dropped the final game of the trip on Tuesday night in Reading 8-6 to split the two-game set with the R-Phils. The SeaWolves and Baysox are meeting for their second series of the season. Bowie took three of four from Erie last week. Three of the four games were decided by one run and two of the four games went into extra innings. Erie held leads in three of four games...The 'Wolves enter play tonight in a tie for first place in the Western Division at the .500 mark...Righty Luke Putkonen takes the mound for the SeaWolves making his third start of the season and second against the Baysox. Putkonen has taken back-to-back no-decisions, including his last start against Bowie. In the game, he allowed four runs, three earned, on six hits in five innings with no walks and three strikeouts. The 'Wolves are 0-2 in games started by Putkonen...Lefty Rick Zagone takes the mound for Bowie making his third start and second against Erie. The 'Wolves roughed up Zagone for eight runs in 3.1 innings of work in his last start. He tossed five shutout innings in his first outing at Harrisburg...The SeaWolves will take on the Baysox for three and round out the homestand with four against Reading next week. The 'Wolves will be off on Sunday.
