Trenton Thunder News Release

(TRENTON, NJ) - The Trenton Thunder (7-7) fell to the Harrisburg Senators (6-7) Thursday night at Metro Bank Park in dramatic fashion as Tim Pahuta's walk-off homerun in the bottom of the tenth inning broke a 3-3 tie and gave the Senators a 4-3 victory. Austin Romine stayed hot at the plate for the Thunder, knocking-in three more runs, and Graham Stoneburner continued to pitch effectively as he hurled five innings of one-run, two-hit ball.

The Thunder took an early lead when the locked-in Romine came to the plate with the bases loaded in the top of the third. Coming into action Thursday night, the Thunder catcher had picked-up six hits and five RBI's in two games. Romine stayed hot at the plate as he lined a Ryan Tatusko pitch into the right field corner, clearing the bases to give the Thunder a 3-0 lead.

Trenton would take a 3-1 lead into the bottom of the eighth inning, but Cory Arbiso would allow the Senators to tie the ballgame on an RBI-single from Archie Gilbert and a Jonathan Tucker RBI-groundout.

The score was tied in the bottom of the tenth inning when Senator third baseman and New Jersey-native Tim Pahuta hit a Fernando Hernandez 2-2 pitch over the scoreboard in right field to give Harrisburg the walk-off win. It was Trenton's first loss when leading after six innings and the first time the team has come-out on the wrong end of the scoreboard in extra innings this season.

Trenton continues its seven-game road trip Friday night as they once again take on the Harrisburg Senators in a 7:00 PM contest. RHP Craig Heyer (1-1, 1.54) will get the pearl for the Thunder and will oppose RHP Brad Peacock (1-1, 2.79) for the Senators. Tune-in to the game on 91.3 WTSR-FM and on trentonthunder.com. The SBLI Pre-Game Show with Hank Fuerst begins at 6:45 PM on the Trenton Thunder Radio Network.
