Tim Pahuta Delivers Walk-Off Dinger in 4-3 Senators Win
April 21, 2011 - Eastern League (EL1)
Harrisburg Senators News Release
The Harrisburg Senators offense slumbered most of the night, but came to life late and surged past the Trenton Thunder 4-3. Tim Pahuta hit a one-out solo home run in the bottom of the 10th for the game winner. It was the second time this season that the Senators won in walk off fashion.
Trenton scored three times in the third on an Austin Romine three-run double to take a 3-0 lead. The Senators bounced back in the last of the third, scoring a run making the score 3-1. It stayed that way until the 8th when Pahuta doubled, Jesus Valdez to third base with no outs. Archie Gilbert drove in a run with a single and then with one-out, Jonathan Tucker drove in Pahuta with a ground out to tie the game.
The Senators bullpen was fantastic again on Thursday. Patrick McCoy, Ryan Mattheus, and Erik Arnesen combined to pitch 4.2 innings of one-hit shutout baseball while striking out five. Ryan Tatusko started and pitched 5.1 innings and allowed three runs while striking out four.
Pahuta and Gilbert both had two hits for the Senators as the Sens improve to 6-7 on the year while Trenton falls to 7-7.
Game two of the three-game series is Friday night at 7:00pm with RH Brad Peacock on the mound for the Sens against RH Craig Heyer for Trenton. The game can be heard on 1460am The Ticket, on the Internet through the Senators website, or on your ipad or iphone beginning at 6:45pm.
