Today, the SeaWolves look for their fourth consecutive win and a series sweep as they take on the Binghamton Mets (New York Mets) in the final game of a four-game series at Jerry Uht Park. Last night, the SeaWolves got out to a six-run lead and held off a late Binghamton charge, winning the game 10-9. The win was the fourth straight over the Mets, evening the season series to 7-7. The 'Wolves offense has exploded over the first three games of the series, scoring 19 runs on 42 hits. The 'Wolves are going for their first sweep and four-game win streak since July 5-8 when the club swept Bowie. Erie has swept two other series this season, both against the Baysox. A win today would give the SeaWolves their first season series win over an Eastern Division opponent...Righty Brayan Villarreal takes the mound for Erie and has been sharp over his first two Double-A starts. In his last outing against Altoona, the righty shut out the Curve over 7.2 innings allowing four hits with no walks and eight strikeouts in a no-decision. He is 0-1 against the Mets...Righty Josh Stinson takes the mound for the Mets making his 30th appearance and 12th start. He took a no-decision in his last start against Portland allowing seven runs on seven hits with three walks and two strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work. He beat Erie on July 22 allowing one run in seven innings.
- The season series between Erie and Binghamton is tied 7-7. The SeaWolves and B-Mets meet 15 times in 2010.- Defensively, the 'Wolves have committed 112 errors on the season which is the second-most in the league.
