ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...

Tonight, the SeaWolves begin their second to last road trip of the season as they take the field in the first game of a four-game weekend series at First Energy Stadium against the Reading Phillies (Philadelphia Phillies). The ‘Wolves are 14-8 following the all-star break. The ‘Wolves are currently in a string of 25-straight games without an off-day. Erie's next scheduled off day is August 11. Erie is coming off of their second straight series win and the club has also won five of the last six games. Following yesterday's win against Harrisburg, the ‘Wolves have moved into fourth place in the Southern Division, 17.5 games behind first place Akron. The Phillies are in last place in the South, 21.5 games out of first. The ‘Wolves and R-Phils are meeting seven times in a 10-day span with this weekend's series. Erie swept Reading 8/1-8/3 at Jerry Uht Park last weekend...Righty Josh Rainwater takes the mound for the SeaWolves, making his 20th appearance and 19th start of the season. He picked up a win in his last outing against Reading on August 2. In the game, Rainwater tossed seven shutout innings, allowing five hits with four walks and five strikeouts. He has walked four batters in each of his last two starts and is 2-1 in his last three starts. Rainwater is 1-1 against the Phillies with an 0.66 ERA...RHP Tyson Brummett makes his 10th start for Reading and his 24th start overall. He has spent time at three levels of the Phillies minor league system this season. Brummett took a loss against Erie in his last outing on August 1. In the game, he went 3.1 innings, allowing nine runs on eight hits with five walks and no strikeouts. Brummett has walked 15 batters in his last three starts.
