Tonight, the SeaWolves look for consecutive wins to start the season as they take on the Reading Fightin Phils (Philadelphia Phillies) in the second game of a four-game series at First Energy Stadium. Last night, the SeaWolves jumped ahead early with four runs in the second inning and three runs in the fourth, building a 7-0 lead. They would go on to beat Reading in the season opener, 7-1...Righty Sandy Baez takes the mound for Erie making his first start of the season. Baez enter the season as the #20 prospect in the Tigers system according to MLB.com. After battling early season injuries in 2017, Baez would go on to make 19 starts between Lakeland and Erie. With the Flying Tigers, Baez made 17 starts going 6-7 with a 3.86 ERA. He was promoted to Erie late in the season and made two starts for the SeaWolves, posting an 0-1 record with a 4.50 ERA...Righty Harold Arauz takes the mound for Reading making his first start of the season. Arauz spent time at three levels of the Phillies minor league chain in 2017. He began the season and made eight relief appearances with Class-A Lakeland, posting a 1-2 record and 1.99 ERA. With Class-A Clearwater, Arauz made 20 appearances, six starts, going 4-4 with a 2.03 ERA. He made one relief appearance with Reading on June 25, tossing 2.1 scoreless frames against Trenton.

- Erie leads the season series over Reading 1-0. Reading won the 2017 season series over Erie 5-2. The SeaWolves and Fightin Phils meet 14 times in 2018.

- Last night's win was the third straight road opening day win for the SeaWolves.

- The SeaWolves return 12 players who spent time in Erie in 2017. Two of those 12, Gabriel Quintana and Dominic Ficociello, were Eastern League All-Stars in 2017.

- The SeaWolves feature a new skipper for the first time since 2014 as Andrew Graham takes over the club. Graham played for Erie in 2006 and briefly filled in as the SeaWolves hitting coach for two months in 2010.

- Also new to the staff is hitting coach Mike Hessman. Hessman, the long-time Toledo Mud Hens slugger, is the all-time minor league home run king with 433 career jacks. Santiago Garrido, who played for parts of two seasons in Erie, joins the staff as the third coach. It is the first time the SeaWolves will feature a four-man coaching staff.

- Four of the five Erie starting pitchers are in the top 20 prospects in the Tigers organization.

- Tonight's starter Sandy Baez is one of three SeaWolves currently on the Tigers 40-man roster. Sergio Alcantara and Saturday night's starter Spencer Turnbull are the others.

- The SeaWolves are looking for their first 2-0 start since 2014.
