ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Tonight, the SeaWolves begin a four-game road series against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians) at Canal Park. The âWolves survived a ninth-inning scare on a rain-filled Saturday night, prevailing with a 9-6 win over the B-Mets. It was Erie's third straight win over Binghamton and the win sealed a season series win over the B-Mets. Yesterday's series finale was cancelled due to rain and will not be made up...The SeaWolves enter play today in second place in the Southern Division, three games behind the first place Aeros. Akron is coming off of a series loss to Altoona and is 5-5 in the last 10 games. The SeaWolves are 12-3 against the Aeros and have won 10 of the last 11 games of the series. Erie is 2-2 in four games at Canal Park...Brennan Boesch has hit safely in a season-high 13 straight games. During the streak, he is hitting .362 (21x58) with four home runs and 12 RBI. Today he was named Eastern League Player of the Week. Boesch is the third consecutive SeaWolf to win the award...Casper Wells has hit safely in a season-high 14 straight games. During the streak, he is hitting .370 (20x54) with four home runs and 14 RBI...The SeaWolves are the top home team in the Eastern League with a 37-16 record and .698 winning percentage at "The Uht." Erie has won 12 of its last 14 home games...The SeaWolves are 17-8 against teams from the Northern Division. Erie will play 41 games against the EL North this season...The SeaWolves are the hottest team in the EL winning seven of their last 10 games...Lefty Jon Kibler takes the mound for the âWolves making his fourth start against Akron. He is 2-0 with a no-decision and a 1.23 ERA in three starts vs. Akron.
