ENTERING TONIGHT'S ACTION...
Today, the SeaWolves look for a series win as they take the field in the final game of a four-game set at Canal Park against the Akron Aeros (Cleveland Indians). If the 'Wolves can pick up a win today, it would be the club's first series victory of the season over the Aeros. The 'Wolves are .500 (5-5) at Canal Park. Last night's loss snapped a three-game winning streak over the Aeros. The loss dropped Erie back to 21.5 games out of first place. The Aeros maintained a 5.5 game advantage over second place Harrisburg with their win over the 'Wolves on Saturday...Including this series, Erie will meet Akron eight times during a 15-day span with Erie returning to Canal Park on July 28 to begin a four-game series...Lefty Luke French takes the mound for the 'Wolves, making his 20th appearance and 19th start of the season. It is also his fourth start against the Aeros. French is 1-1 with a no-decision in his previous three against the Aeros. He took a loss in his last outing despite tossing a complete game in the second game of a doubleheader against Altoona. In the game, he went seven, allowing four runs on seven hits with two walks and three strikeouts. French has dropped three straight starts...Lefty Scott Lewis will make the start for Akron. He is making his ninth start and his second against Erie. Lewis took a loss against the 'Wolves on July 3. He took a no-decision in his last start against Reading going six shutout innings, allowing four hits with no walks and five strikeouts.
