Bakersfield Condors News Release

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, have announced today D Eric Regan has been named to the All ECHL 1st Team today. It is the 12th time a Condor has been named to the first or second All ECHL (or All WCHL) Team.

Regan, 21, has had a breakout season in the pro ranks, ranking second in the entire league in goals (16) and points (49) among defensemen. He sits just one goal shy of tying the Condors team record for goals by a defensemen (set by Kevin Truelson in 2006-07), and one point shy of becoming the third Condors blueliner to ever reach the 50-point plateau. Regan represented the Condors in the ECHL All-Star Game in Ontario earlier this season, and also participated in five American Hockey League games with San Antonio (0g-0a, 6 PIM) in January.

The Whitby, Ontario, native is in his second professional season. Under contract to Anaheim and assigned to the Condors in training camp, Regan spent the entire 2008-09 campaign in the AHL with the Iowa Chops, recording eight points (1g-7a) in 59 games.

The Condors have had five previous First-Team selections in team history, and six Second-Team selections. The last First-Team pick was D Guy Dupuis, who made the All ECHL squad in 2004-05. The complete All ECHL 1st Team is listed below.
