
All-ECHL Second Team Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced its All-ECHL Second Team for 2009-10 as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards.
2009-10 All-ECHL Second Team
F - Justin Donati, Elmira Jackals (63 gp, 39g, 59a, 98 pts, +13)
F - Adam Miller, Las Vegas Wranglers (69 gp, 32g, 52a, 84 pts, +5)
F - Tyler Spurgeon, Idaho Steelheads (48 gp, 26g, 39a, 65 pts, +32)
D - Mitch Ganzak, Wheeling Nailers (69 gp, 8g, 39a, 47 pts, -5)
D - Jimmy Sharrow, Victoria Salmon Kings (59 gp, 12g, 33a, 45 pts, -5)
G - Richard Bachman, Idaho Steelheads (35 gp, 22-7-4, 2.28 GAA, .910 Save Pct.)
The ECHL will announce the Sportsmanship Award winner on Friday.
Justin Donati of the Elmira Jackals leads all ECHL rookies with 39 goals, 59 assists, 98 points, 20 power-play assists and 34 power-play points while his 14 power-play goals tie him for the rookie lead. Donati's 98 points are third in the league while his 39 are fourth in the ECHL. Donati, who was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team on Wednesday, has also played in four American Hockey League games this season with Binghamton and Portland where he has tallied one assist.
Adam Miller of the Las Vegas Wranglers is fourth in the league with 52 assist, third with 256 shots and ranks fifth with 84 points. Miller's eight-game goal streak (8) from Feb. 26-March 10 is the second-longest streak in the league this season, while his 14-game point streak (14g-17a) from Feb. 26-March 20 is tied for fourth. During the ECHL All-Star Skills Competition, Miller won the Reebok Fastest Skater Competition before recording four points (2g-2a) in the ECHL All-Star Game.
Tyler Spurgeon of the Idaho Steelheads is second in the league in plus-minus with a +32 and is tied for 19th in scoring with 65 points (26g-39a). An eighth round selection (242nd overall) by the Edmonton Oilers in the 2004 NHL Entry Draft, Spurgeon has also seen time in the American Hockey League this season with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton and Abbotsford and has recorded five points (1g-4a) and nine penalty minutes in 24 games.
Mitch Ganzak of the Wheeling Nailers leads all ECHL defensemen with 39 assists while tying for the league lead with 25 power-play points and sitting third with 47 points and second with 21 power-play assists. He participated in the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game, notching one assist. Ganzak, who was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team last season, has also seen action in one game with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League this season.
Jimmy Sharrow of the Victoria Salmon Kings is tied for the league lead among defensemen with eight power-play goals and 25 power-play points and ranks fourth with 45 points while sitting tied for fifth with 33 assists. A fourth round selection (110th overall) by the Atlanta Thrashers in the 2003 NHL Entry Draft, Sharrow has played two games this season with Manitoba and San Antonio of the AHL, registering one assist.
Richard Bachman of the Idaho Steelheads is 22-7-3 with four shutouts, a league-leading 2.28 goals-against average and a save percentage of .910. The 22 year old was named to the ECHL All-Rookie Team on Wednesday and represented the Steelheads at the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game. Selected in the fourth round (120th overall) by the Dallas Stars in the 2006 NHL Entry Draft, Bachman is under NHL contract with Dallas. He has appeared in six AHL games going 3-3-0 with one shutout, a 2.06 goals-against average and a .927 save percentage with Texas.
