BAKERSFIELD, Calif. - The Bakersfield Condors, official ECHL affiliate of the Anaheim Ducks, head into the final weekend of the 2009-10 regular season, with the intent of claiming the first division title in team history. The Condors host the ECHL's top team, the Idaho Steelheads on Friday and Saturday. Doors open at 6 p.m., the puck drops at 7 p.m. both nights. Two points this weekend will clinch the division title for the Condors.
On Friday the Condors host Trading Card Collectors Set Giveaway #5, presented by 29 Eyewitness News, Hot Hits 93.1 and Farmers Insurance. The first 3,000 fans in attendance will receive the final set of Condors trading cards, includingMarty Raymond, C MacGregor Sharp, G J.P. Levasseur, F Gino Guyer, RW Nick Kemp and Mascot Baby Cal. If you're looking to complete your collection with sets 1-4, they can be purchased at the Condors Team Store, located on Truxtun Avenue, across from Rabobank Arena or at the arena concourse merchandise stands at Condors games.
Plus, it's Mercy & Memorial Hospitals, Wells Fargo Bank & Diamond Technologies T.H.I.N.K. Night. The Turn Hockey Into New Knowledgeprogram allows students to earn terrace tickets to the game through exceptional performance at school. During Friday's game, Diamond Technologies is going to give one lucky student who participated in the T.H.I.N.K. program this season a free computer!
Also, Superfan Cameron Hughes will be performing at the game, and all season ticket holders are invited to the Flashco Boardroom for a Meet the Team Partyfollowing the contest.
On Saturday, don't miss the final game of the regular season as Bright House Networks & 101.5 KGFM present Nickelodeon's SpongeBob SquarePants.Bring the kids and come out to enjoy nautical nonsense with SpongeBob Squarepants. Fans will have the chance to take pictures with SpongeBob at the photo booth throughout the game.
Saturday also marks Bright House Networks Family Night. BHN subscribers receive $7.00 admission per person by presenting their cable bill or envelope at the Rabobank Arena Box Office. It is also the final Bright House Networks, Bakersfield Californian, & Wells Fargo Condors Kids Club Night. All club members receive free terrace level admission by presenting their Kids Club badge at the box office. The final regular season game is also the final Big Buddies Night.Underprivileged children and military personnel will be given the opportunity to attend a Condors game for free thanks to local organizations.
At both Friday and Saturday's games, behind section 113, drop down a bid during the silent auction to win one of the Condors pregame warmup jerseys. The jerseys are NASCAR-themed, feature checkerboard markings and are adorned with logos of some of the Condors corporate partners. The jerseys have been worn all season by Condors players, and proceeds from the auction will benefit the Active 20/30 Club. Although nameplates have not been on these jerseys all season, for this auction, nameplates of the players will be added or you can choose to personalize the nameplates, however you wish!
Following every game, Condors players will be at the Bakersfield Marriott Autograph Booth, located on the arena concourse behind section 108. RW Nick Kempand F Gino Guyer will be signing on Friday and G Timo Pielmeierand LW Dan Kisselwill be available on Saturday. The players will arrive at the booth approximately 20 minutes after the conclusion of the game to meet fans and sign autographs.
