
All-ECHL First Team Announced

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL on Thursday announced its All-ECHL First Team for 2009-10 as determined in a vote of ECHL coaches, who were asked to select a goaltender, two defensemen and three forwards.
2009-10 All-ECHL First Team
F - Mark Derlago, Idaho Steelheads (59 gp, 41g, 50a, 91 pts, +33)
F - Tyler Donati, Elmira Jackals (65 gp, 38g, 72a, 110 pts, +20)
F - Ryan Kinasewich, Utah Grizzlies (57 gp, 46g, 53a, 99 pts, -12)
D - Eric Regan, Bakersfield Condors (58 gp, 16g, 33a, 49 pts, +6)
D - J.C. Sawyer, Toledo Walleye (65 gp, 21g, 37a, 58 pts, -8)
G - Todd Ford, South Carolina Stingrays (28 gp, 18-7-2, 2.79 GAA, .910 Save Pct.)
The ECHL will announce the Sportsmanship Award winner on Friday.
Mark Derlago of the Idaho Steelheads leads the league with 18 power-play goals, is tied for second with 40 goals and is third with 35 power-play points while his 91 points rank fourth. He has also played in five games this season with Providence of the American Hockey League registering one goal. Derlago has scored at least 32 goals in each of his three seasons in the ECHL and has 225 points (112g-113a) in 176 career ECHL games. Last season, Derlago was named to the All-ECHL Second Team while playing for Bakersfield.
Tyler Donati of the Elmira Jackals leads the ECHL with a team-record 110 points, 72 assists and 32 power-play assists. He is tied for the league lead with 41 power-play points and tied for fifth with 38 goals. Donati is the 64th player in ECHL history to score 100 points.
Ryan Kinasewich of the Utah Grizzlies leads the league with 46 goals on a league-leading 313 shots and is tied for the lead with 41 power-play points. He ranks second with 99 points and 27 power-play assists while his 53 assists are third and his 14 power-play goals tie him for second. Kinasewich was selected as a starter for the ECHL All-Star Game in 2010 and also participated in the 2005 All-Star Game. He has scored 170 goals in 280 career ECHL games with Utah and Reading. Kinasewich was named to the All-ECHL Second Team in 2005-06 when he finished fourth with 85 points (39g-46a). He has appeared in 10 games this season for Bridgeport and Hamilton of the American Hockey League tallying four points (2g-2a).
Eric Regan of the Bakersfield Condors is tied for the lead among ECHL defensemen with eight power-play goals while his 16 goals, 49 points and four game-winning goals are second among defensemen. Regan, who is under contract to Anaheim of the NHL, has seen action in five games with San Antonio of the American Hockey League where he has six penalty minutes. He also represented the Condors at the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game.
J.C. Sawyer of the Toledo Walleye leads all defensemen with 21 goals, 58 points and seven game-winning goals while ranking second with 37 assists. He is tied for third among defensemen with 24 power-play points and sits tied for fourth with 18 power-play assists. He was chosen as a starter for the 2010 ECHL All-Star Game and served as captain for the American Conference and also appeared in the 2008 All-Star Game while with Pensacola. Sawyer, who is under contract to Chicago of the National Hockey League, has suited up for Rockford of the AHL in four games this season where he has one assist.
Todd Ford of the South Carolina Stingrays is 18-7-2 with one shutout and a 2.79 goals-against average. He is second with a .910 save percentage and is fifth with a .889 shootout percentage. Ford was voted as the starting goaltender for the American Conference for the ECHL All-Star Game, stopping seven of nine shots in the first period. The 25 year old has also appeared in 14 games in the American Hockey League this season with Texas and Portland going 6-5-1 with two shutouts, a 2.64 goals-against average and a save percentage of .916.
