Both starters, New York's Dan Wirchansky and Quebec's David Gauthier, matched zeroes through five innings. In the top of the sixth, Quebec finally broke through. With one out, Lacroix singled before a ground-rule double to right by Pelletier put runners on second and third.

Castro then lifted a fly to left that plated Lacroix with the night's first run and the first of his six RBI in the game. Wirchansky retired David Glaude on a groundball to end the inning.

Gauthier was relieved by Bret Clarke to start the sixth, leaving after allowing three hits, walking one and striking out four.

The Boulders, however, answered in their half of the sixth with two runs against Clarke. With one out, Zach Kirtley singled. Ryan Ramiz followed with a drive off the high wall in right-center that sent Kirtley to third, but Ramiz was thrown out at second by Quebec rightfielder Raphael Gladu.

Marcus Mastrobuoni, though, grounded a single through the left side to tie the game at 1-1. Ray Hernandez followed with a double to right-center that scored Mastrobuoni to give New York a 2-1 lead.

The Boulders added a run in the seventh. Phil Caulfield led off with a double and moved up to third on a bunt single by Milton Smith, Jr. Jack Sundberg's single then scored Caulfield to make it a 3-1 game.

Meanwhile, Wirchansky gave New York seven solid innings before yielding to Alexander to open the eighth. Wirchansky surrendered one run on four his while walking two and striking out two.
