Eppler Leads Marauders to Skid-Snapping Win

Bradenton, FL - The Marauders (31-19, 63-57) snapped a three-game losing streak with a 5-0 win over the St. Lucie Mets (25-25, 60-60) on Monday at McKechnie Field. RHP Tyler Eppler led the way for Bradenton, tossing a season high seven innings and striking out five while allowing just two hits and a walk to St. Lucie.

Bradenton opened the scoring on a two-RBI single from C Reese McGuire in the first inning. Two more runs scored in the second as CF Austin Meadows beat out a bases-loaded fielder's choice grounder in the second. LF Justin Maffei drove in the final run with a sacrifice fly in the fourth inning.

RHP Felipe Gonzalez and RHP Dovydas Neverauskas each fired a scoreless inning for the Marauders.

NOTES: The game began at 6:33 p.m. under cloudy skies, 90 degrees, and wind blowing 7 mph in from center ... Harold Ramirez was hit in consecutive plate appearances by Mets starter Marcos Molina ... The shutout was Bradenton's eighth white wash victory of the season ...
