St. Lucie Mets News Release

BRADENTON, Fla. (August 17, 2015) - Tyler Eppler and two Bradenton relievers helped the Marauders blank the St. Lucie Mets 5-0 on Monday at McKechnie Field.

Eppler tossed seven innings and limited the Mets to two singles. He walked one and struck out five.

Felipe Gonzalez pitched a perfect eighth and Dovydas Neverauskas worked around a two-out single and walk to complete the shutout in the ninth. Austin Meadows had to make a reaching catch at the track in center field to end the game and rob Victor Cruzado of a two-run extra base hit.

Marcos Molina took the loss in his first start since May. Molina allowed six hits and five runs, all earned in four innings. He walked two, hit two batters and struck out three.

The Marauders led wire-to-wire. With the bases loaded in the first inning, Reese McGuire lobbed a two-run single into center field.

Bradenton scored two more runs in the second. Austin Meadows grounded a ball to second base with one out and the bases loaded and just he just beat Amed Rosario's throw to first base on the attempted inning-ending double play. Chris Diaz scored from third and Jeff Roy never stopped running from second and he scored to make it 4-0.

Diaz led off the fourth with a double. He went to second on a ground out and scored on a sac fly to put the Marauders up 5-0.

David Roseboom and Kyle Regnault each pitched two scoreless innings out of the Mets bullpen.

Dominic Smith, Matt Oberste and Jhoan Urena each had a single. That was all for the Mets offense.

The series between the Mets (60-60, 25-25) and Marauders (63-57, 31-19) shifts to Port St. Lucie on Tuesday. David Wright will be back in the lineup as he continues his rehab assignment. First pitch at Tradition Field is set for 6:30 p.m.
