Energy Let 4th Quarter Lead Slip Away, Fall To Skyforce 120-116

DES MOINES, IA, Feb. 28, 2010 - Sioux Falls reserve guard Leemire Goldwire scored 27 points in the 4th quarter to lead the Skyforce to a come from behind 120-116 victory Sunday in Des Moines. The win gives Sioux Falls a weekend sweep of the Energy.

The two Eastern Conference rivals played a back and forth 1st half as neither team led by more than six points during the first 24 minutes of action. Each team was led by a big man in the half as Sioux Falls' Alexander Johnson scored 25 points and Iowa's Earl Barron had 15 points going into the break.

Iowa appeared to be in control of the game as 18-5 Energy run that stretched from the 2:26 mark of the 3rd quarter through the 10:32 mark of the 4th quarter gave the Energy a 95-82 lead. That is when Goldwire went to work. The 5'11" guard knocked down six 3-pointers in the final period as he scored as many points as the entire Energy team in the final stanza to give Sioux Falls the win.

The Energy were led by Barron's 28 point, 12 rebound night while Curtis Stinson added 16 points and 18 rebounds. The loss drops the Energy to 30-9 on the year, including a current three game losing streak.

Johnson led Sioux Falls with 31 points as they improve to 21-15 on the year.
