NEW YORK, Feb. 28, 2010 - Memphis Grizzlies rookie guard Lester Hudson was assigned to the Dakota Wizards, the Grizzlies' NBA D-League affiliate, it was announced today. The assignment, which is Hudson's third of the 2009-10 season, is the 24th time an NBA player has been assigned to an NBA D-League affiliate this season.

Hudson has appeared in eight games for Memphis since being acquired by the Grizzlies on Jan. 8, averaging 4.3 points, 1.3 rebounds and 7.4 minutes. Before being waived by Boston on Jan. 6, Hudson averaged 1.4 points and 4.4 minutes in 16 games. Hudson re-joins the NBA D-League following two assignments from the Celtics to the Maine Red Claws. During those assignments, he averaged 14.6 points, 4.8 rebounds and 4.2 assists in 28.0 minutes over five games.

Selected in the second round (48th overall) by the Celtics in the 2009 NBA Draft, Hudson appeared in 65 games, 64 as a starter, for Tennessee-Martin, averaging 16.6 points, 7.9 rebounds and 3.7 assists during his NCAA career. During his junior and senior seasons, Hudson was named Ohio Valley Conference Player of the Year, while earning First Team All-Conference honors for those two seasons. Prior to matriculating at Tennesse-Martin, Hudson played his freshman and sophomore seasons at West Central Tennessee Community College.
