
Energy Fall in Game One of Road Trip

BROOMFIELD, CO, Jan. 17, 2009 - The Colorado 14ers made 16 three-point shots and outrebounded the Iowa Energy 53 to 37 on their way to an easy 141 to 118 victory Tuesday night.
In a matchup between the D-League's two highest scoring teams, Colorado had 70 points at halftime including 10 three-point field goals. Billy Thomas led the 14ers with 30 points, including six three-pointers while Josh Davis and Dominique Coleman added 21 points apiece.
Iowa was led by reserve Brian Evans, who finished with 21 points. Former Iowa State star Curtis Stinson and rookie Othyus Jeffers each finished with 20 points. The Energy continue to play without stars Courtney Sims and Cartier Martin, both of whom have been called up to the NBA.
Despite the loss, Iowa remains in 1st place in the D-League's Central Division, 2 games ahead of 2nd place Dakota.
The Energy continue their road swing on Thursday at Idaho. The next Energy home game is Monday, February 23rd at 7pm. The first 2,000 fans at that game will receive a "Benny the Bull Bobblehead".
