A combination of great pitching and hitting ties up the score in the series after a 7-3 win over the Vancouver Canadians.
The scoring started in the third, where the Emeralds hit their first back-to-back solo home runs in the season, hit by 2B Jimmy Glowenke and SS Ghordy Santos to take the lead 2-0.
In the next inning, the Emeralds would score some insurance runs for starting pitcher Randy Rodriguez.
Back-to-back RBI doubles by 1B Luis Toribio and 3B Casey Schmitt scored RF Hunter Bishop and Toribio to make it 4-0.
The Canadians scored a run back to cut the deficit to three runs with an RBI single by 2B Miguel Hiraldo to cash in 1B P.K. Morris 4-1.
A leadoff walk to CF Luis Matos would later lead to a run scored by a Bishop's fielder's choice to make it 5-1.
A pair of runs would be scored by the Canadians by a throwing error by Santos and an RBI single by Morris 5-3.
The Emeralds scored a run back on an RBI single by SS Marco Luciano to bring in Schmitt 6-3.
The finishing blow to the Canadians came on a two-out solo home run by LF Armani Smith for his fourth of the year 7-3.
Emeralds pitching would go 9 IP, 6 H, 3 R, 2 ER, 2 BB and 9 K.
Tomorrow will be the rubber match in the series as the Emeralds will announce their starter tomorrow vs. Trent Palmer. First pitch is at 1:05 PM 12:50 PM pregame show on 95.3 The Score.
