Mississippi Sea Wolves News Release

BILOXI, MS - The Mississippi Sea Wolves announced on Thursday that Director of Season Ticket and Group Sales Thom Emerson was honored as the ECHL's Ticket Sales Executive of the Year for the American Conference at the ECHL's Annual Marketing and Communications Meetings in Las Vegas, Nevada.

"It's a tremendous honor to be named Ticket Sales Executive of the Year for the American Conference," Emerson stated. "I've been a Sea Wolves fan since I moved to the coast several years ago, and a lot of the credit for this award goes to the fans, who've come back in droves after Hurricane Katrina and helped us sell the most season tickets in team history."

After 21 years in communications and navigation in the United States Navy, a career that saw him travel to six continents and serve at duty stations around the world, Emerson retired from the military in 2004.

After working as a restaurant manager, Thom joined the Sea Wolves as a ticket account executive in 2005. Following Hurricane Katrina, he spent 13 months with the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League as an Inside Sales Representative, and returned to the Mississippi coast to help keep the Sea Wolves in Biloxi and to do what he can to help fellow Katrina survivors rebuild their lives.

A native of Berrien Springs, Michigan, Emerson rejoined the Sea Wolves office as Director of Season Ticket and Group Sales for the 2007-08 season.
