Emerson, Piecuch Named Ticket Executive Of The Year

PRINCETON, N.J. - The ECHL announced that Thom Emerson of the Mississippi Sea Wolves is the American Conference recipient of the Ticket Executive of the Year award while Dave Piecuch of the Stockton Thunder was selected as the winner in the National Conference.

The winners are selected by a vote of league general managers and ticketing managers.

Emerson, who is director of season tickets and group sales for the Sea Wolves, was originally hired by Mississippi in August 2005 but was forced to leave Biloxi in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. He worked for the Dallas Stars of the National Hockey League for 13 months until being able to return to Mississippi where he was instrumental in helping the Sea Wolves make a successful return in 2007-08 including selling 2,000 season tickets and more than 6,000 group tickets.

Piecuch is vice president of sales for Stockton which has led the ECHL in attendance each of its first three seasons. The Thunder have averaged over 7,100 fans per game for their first three seasons and had more than 3,000 season ticket holders and almost 40,000 group tickets in 2007-08.
