January 21, 2014 - ECHL (ECHL)
Elmira Jackals News Release
ELMIRA, N.Y. - January 21, 2014 - This weekend will provide hockey fans in the Twin Tiers plenty of action on, and off, the ice. The Elmira Jackals are home for three games in as many days against the Fort Wayne Komets and have three great promotions on tap.
The Jackals will wear these Guns-and-Hoses jerseys on Sat., Jan. 25 vs. Fort Wayne. Portion of proceeds from postgame auction donated to Elmira Animal Shelter.
On Friday, January 24 the Jackals are inviting fans to come to First Arena to help celebrate Blade's birthday. All of Blade's mascot friends will be in attendance and they have lots of fun things planned to entertain the fans throughout the night. There is also an extra-special surprise planned for Blade that you will have to be here to believe! Best of all, children 12 years old and younger will get free birthday cupcakes!
This Saturday the Elmira Fire Department and Elmira Police Department take center stage on Guns-and-Hoses Night. At 4:00 p.m. the departments will square off in an exhibition game on First Arena's main rink. That game is free to attend for anyone who has a ticket to the Jackals' 7:05 game that night against Fort Wayne. Then when the Jackals take to the ice against the Komets they will don, for one night only, their Guns-and-Hoses specialty jerseys. Immediately after the game the Jackals invite fans to stick around and participate in the live jersey auction. Winning bidders will get to wear their favorite player's jersey home that night and a portion of the proceeds from the auction will be donated to the Elmira Animal Shelter - the chosen non-profit of the EFD and EPD. Fans will also have plenty of opportunities to make noise at the game thanks to Able2 sponsoring a cow bell giveaway.
The fun wraps up on Sunday, January 26 at 4:05 p.m. when the Jackals and Komets close out their three-game set. The Jackals will hold their traditional Sunday Postgame Skate With the Team immediately after the game. The skate is free for anyone who has a ticket to the game, and rental skates will be available to anyone who doesn't own a pair of their own. Don't miss this opportunity to hit the ice with your favorite players and meet them up-close-and-personal.
As always, groups of 10 or more qualify for discounts off the box office price and preferred seating based on availability. Take advantage of the group rates and benefits by booking your seats in advance. Call 607-734-7825 to speak to a Jackals representative and get your group booked.
