Hirschfeld Heads to Grand Rapids

(Toledo, OH) - Forward Alden Hirschfeld has been loaned to the Grand Rapids Griffins of the American Hockey League.

Hirschfeld has appeared in 35 games this year with Toledo scoring five goals with 17 assists. The native of Sylvania, Ohio has picked up 14 points (3g, 11a) over the last 19 contests. He scored eight goals with eight assists combined between Providence in the American Hockey League and South Carolina in the ECHL last season.

Prior to turning professional, the 25-year-old appeared in 134 games over four seasons with the Miami of Ohio RedHawks with 35 goals and 35 assists. He was a member of the 2011 CCHA Championship team and was Team Captain in the 2011-12 season. The 6'1", 205 pound forward skated for three years at Sylvania Northview High School prior to his college career with his last year being the 2005-06 season, a season in which the Wildcats reached the State Title game.

The Griffins play three games this weekend with games in Texas Friday and Saturday, followed by a Sunday game in San Antonio.
