ELMIRA, N.Y. - December 14, 2012 - Tonight the Elmira Jackals embark on a weekend three-in-three by playing host to the Orlando Solar Bears. Orlando is one of four expansion teams in the ECHL this season and is making its first appearance in Elmira.

Tonight is the second of three scheduled meetings between the Jackals and Solar Bears this season, and the first of two games between the teams at First Arena. The Jackals are 0-1-0 against the Solar Bears this season after taking a 5-3 setback in Orlando on November 10. Tonight the Jackals will try to continue their trend of success against the South Division at home. They are a combined 3-1-0 against the South at First Arena and have out-scored opponents by a combined 11-7 mark. In three of the previous four games Elmira has held its opponent to one goal or fewer. Orlando is playing its first northern road game of the season and trying to turn its fortunes around away from home. The Solar Bears are 4-7-1 overall away from Amway Center and have won one of their last seven road contests (1-6-0).

Rookie forward Justin Daniels is expected to make his Jackals debut tonight. The Suffern, N.Y. native played four seasons at Northeastern University and compiled 38 points (15G, 23A) over 93 games with the Huskies. He attended training camp with the ECHL's Utah Grizzlies before joining up with the Central Hockey League's Allen Americans for the start of his season. Daniels has also logged six games with the Southern Professional Hockey League's Augusta Riverhawks and notched one goal. He is a former third-round draft pick (#62 overall) of the San Jose Sharks out of Kent School in 2008. Additionally, the Jackals could be without defenseman Ben Blood who was reassigned by Ottawa to Binghamton on Wednesday.
