Bulls Overcome Thunder, Win 4-3 in Overtime

SAN FRANCISCO,Calif. - Peter Sivak scored at 1:13 of overtime on the power play to give the San Francisco Bulls (10-14-1-2) a 4-3 win over the Stockton Thunder (13-6-3-2), Thursday night at the Cow Palace. Andrew Crescenzi scored late in the third period to force overtime. Thomas Heemskerk made 33 saves in the win, improving the Bulls to 3-0 against Stockton this season.

Daniil Tarasov gave the Bulls an early 1-0 lead at 6:31 of the first period. Marek Viedensky found Tarasov in the slot for a one-time shot that beat Tyler Bunz to the far-side. The Bulls outshot the Thunder 15-9 in the first period.

After a double-minor penalty to Justin Bowers in the second period, Stockton went to work on the power play and equalized the game 1-1 with 9:03 remaining in the period. Harrison Reed scored his 11th goal of the season after a goal-mouth scramble in front of Heemskerk. Reed's goal was assisted by Tony DeHart and Justin Maylan.

Stockton took a 2-1 lead at 6:10 of the third period. Eric Hunter scored with a perfect backhand shot over Heemskerk for his seventh goal of the season. The Bulls had a response. Belan brought the game back to even at 9:51 of the period. Belan's third goal of the year was assisted by Crescenzi and Dylan King. With Belan in the penalty box for tripping, the Thunder converted on the power play to take a 3-2 lead. Ryan Constant scored off a one-time pass from Maylan with 6:12 remaining in the period. Phil Mangan also picked up an assist on the goal. Yet again the Bulls would find a way to come back and tie the game. After a misplay of the puck by Bunz, Jordan Clendenning found a wide open Crescenzi who scored his second goal of the season. The goal was scored with 2:56 remaining in regulation.

After 60 minutes, the game was tied 3-3 and went to overtime. The Bulls were on the power play in overtime after a double-minor penalty to Mangan late in the third period. Sivak executed a perfect wrist shot over Bunz to give the Bulls a 4-3 win. The goal was assisted by Rob Kwiet and Dean Ouellet.

The Bulls return to action tomorrow night in Ontario to take on the Reign at 7 pm. The Bulls continue their road-trip the next night in Bakersfield against the Condors at 7 pm. Be sure to follow the action on America One Sports and KNBR. The Bulls will face-off again against Stockton on Monday night at 7:30 pm at HP Pavilion, the home of the San Jose Sharks.
