Eduardo Nunez Transferred Back On Trenton's Roster

(Reading, PA)- The Trenton Thunder, Double-A Affiliate of the New York Yankees, have announced that INF Eduardo Nunez has been transferred from the roster of the Staten Island Yankees (SS) to Trenton. OF Seth Fortenberry has been transferred from Trenton to Tampa (High-A).

Nunez has a .309 BA with 3 home runs and 19 RBI. He has the ninth highest batting average in the Eastern League this season. The Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic native is second on the Thunder in hits (55) and runs (25). He had a .356 BA in May with 19 runs, three home runs, and 12 RBI. Nunez hit .271 with six home runs and 42 RBI in 94 games last season for Tampa (High-A). Nunez was signed by the Yankees as a non-drafted free agent on February 25, 2004.

Fortenberry has appeared in 38 games for the Thunder this season, and has a .160 BA with eight RBI. The native of Waco, TX was drafted by the Yankees in the 11th round of the 2006 draft out of Baylor University.

Trenton and Reading continue their three-game series on Wednesday night at First Energy Stadium in Reading, PA. RHP Christian Garcia (2-0, 0.41) will start for Trenton against Reading LHP Joe Savery (6-1, 4.05). Game time is set for 7:05 p.m. Trenton returns to Waterfront Park on Friday night to start a series against the Binghamton Mets (Double-A affiliate of the New York Mets).
