Edmonton Oil Kings Launch 2017 Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Brick

Teddy bears to flood the ice at Rogers Place on December 2 for 2017 Teddy Bear Toss with specialty jersey auction in support of 630 CHED Santas Anonymous.

(Edmonton, AB) - As the holiday season gets underway, the Edmonton Oil Kings prepare to host their 11th annual Teddy Bear Toss presented by The Brick on Saturday, December 2 against the Prince Albert Raiders.

The Oil Kings 2017 Teddy Bear Toss will have players wearing speciality holiday themed jerseys that will be auctioned off in raffle and silent auction throughout the evening.

All funds raised through the auction will support 630 CHED Santas Anonymous, a local non-profit organization that aims to see every child in need receive a new toy at Christmas. Since 1955, the staff at 630 CHED and volunteers from the community have worked together to ensure that every year they are able to fulfill this goal and provide over 25,000 children with a new toy on Christmas morning.

Today, 630 CHED Santas Anonymous has become an Edmonton tradition bringing together volunteers, donors and recipients to better the lives of children by delivering the "spirit of Christmas".

"We love to see families making a tradition of giving to less fortunate children. Giving back is so important to instill in children. And what a fun way to give back to the community and encourage a love of giving from a young age than to attend the Oil Kings Teddy Bear Toss," said 630 CHED Santas Anonymous Executive Director, Lana Nordlund. "The Teddy Bear Toss partnership with the Edmonton Oil Kings is instrumental in ensuring that each of the 25,000 children's gift packages is complete with a soft, huggable plush toy."

This year, The Brick will be partnering with the Edmonton Oil Kings for the third consecutive year as the presenting sponsor of the 2017 Teddy Bear Toss,

The Edmonton Oil Kings are excited to play the most-anticipated game of the season for such a worthy cause.

"We're very excited for this annual Oil Kings event and we know that our players and fans alike look forward to the Teddy Bear Toss all season long," said Edmonton Oil Kings Director of Business Operations Kevin Radomski. "We encourage fans to come early and bring multiple stuffed animals to help support the amazing work that 630 CHED Santas Anonymous does in our community."

Limited tickets are available for the 2017 Teddy Bear Toss, starting at just $20. Doors open at a special time of 5:30 PM. The puck drops between the Oil Kings and the Raiders at 7:00 PM.
