Eastern League Announces 2011 All-Star Game

PORTLAND, ME - Eastern League President Joe McEacharn and the Eastern League member clubs are pleased to announce that the 2011 Eastern League All-Star Game has been awarded to the New Hampshire Fisher Cats. The 2011 Eastern League All-Star Game will be played at Merchantsauto.com Stadium in Manchester, New Hampshire on Wednesday, July 13th.

The 2011 Eastern League All-Star Game will feature a collection of the top talent from the Eastern Division taking on a roster of Western Division All-Stars. Each of the All-Star rosters will consist of 24 players, with each Eastern League franchise being represented by at least one pitcher and one position player on the roster for their respective division.

"We are very excited to showcase the Major League stars of tomorrow to the fans in New Hampshire," said McEacharn. "The fans in New Hampshire have shown an incredible amount of support for the Fisher Cats since their inception and we know that same high level of enthusiasm will be on display when the stars of the league descend on the city of Manchester next July."

The Eastern League has also made a decision about the host team for the 2012 game. Final details are still being coordinated with the host city. An official announcement will be forthcoming.
