San Jose Earthquakes News Release
SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes fell to the defending MLS Cup champions New York City FC 3-0 at Yankee Stadium on Sunday. The Quakes held NYCFC's high-scoring offense off the board for 73 minutes before the home side was able to break through. New York City then added two more goals in the 78th and 88th minute, respectively.
The Earthquakes are now preparing to host the Colorado Rapids at PayPal Park on Saturday, May 7, presented by Audi. The match, which will celebrate the Quakes' annual Mexican Heritage Night, will begin at 7 p.m. PT and will be broadcast on NBC Sports California, KNBR 1050, and 1370 KZSF.

Seeking a Win
San Jose is looking for their first win against Colorado at PayPal Park since July 27, 2019. Goals from Vako and Shea Salinas, and an own goal from Lalas Abubakar earned the Quakes a 3-1 victory over the visiting side.
Strong at Home
The Quakes have only lost once when hosting the Rapids at PayPal Park since its opening in 2015 (4-1-2).
Facing the Rapids
The Quakes hold an all-time record of 30-24-18 against the Colorado Rapids, including a home record of 17-9-9 in which they outscored Colorado 55-38.
Round One
Saturday's match will be the first of two matchups between the two clubs in 2022. The Quakes will later visit Colorado on Sept. 14 to close the season series.

Defender Nathan is available for selection for Saturday's game after serving a single-match suspension in the last match vs. New York City FC.

Earthquakes to Celebrate Mexican Heritage Night on May 7
The San Jose Earthquakes will celebrate Mexican Heritage Night, presented by Audi, on Saturday, May 7 vs. the Colorado Rapids (7 p.m. PT kickoff). The Quakes will distribute 5,000 Mexican heritage scarves, courtesy of Audi, designed by globally known Mexican American artist Jesse 'Urban Aztec' Hernandez. Fans will be able to enjoy pregame festivities, including live music from Mariachi Estelar, a lucha libre performance from Pro Wrestling Revolution, and food trucks from local restaurants. Los Mestizos de San Jose will then perform a Mexican folkloric dance on the field at halftime.
PayPal Park to Host Club America vs. Club Leon on June 22
PayPal Park, home of the San Jose Earthquakes, will host an international friendly between Mexico's Club America and Club Leon on Wednesday, June 22. The match kicks off at 7 p.m. PT and marks the second time each of these two clubs will compete at PayPal Park since 2021. There will also be a Fan Fest prior to the match at 5:15 p.m. PT, featuring live music, food, team trophies display, and other surprise and delights.
An exclusive presale for Earthquakes Season Ticket Holders will begin on Tuesday, May 3 at 10 a.m. PT before tickets are made available to the general public on Wednesday, May 4 at 10 a.m. PT. Tickets can be purchased via Ticketmaster.com .
Audi, Bleacher Report and MLS announce Season 3 of all-access series THE ACADEMY to feature the San Jose Earthquakes
Audi, along with Bleacher Report and MLS, announced the launch of Season 3 of THE ACADEMY - a four-part documentary series focused this season on the future stars developing in the academy of the San Jose Earthquakes. THE ACADEMY provides viewers with an all-access look as young athletes follow their dreams to become professionals, highlights the development system utilized in every MLS academy, and illustrates the impact of the Audi Goals Drive Progress program. In the first two seasons, which highlighted the academies of Sporting Kansas City (2020) and the New York Red Bulls (2021), THE ACADEMY captured the rise of prospects to their club's first teams. EARTHQUAKES II UPDATE
Earthquakes II fell to the Tacoma Defiance in a penalty shootout following a 2-2 draw last Monday at PayPal Park, before suffering a road defeat to Whitecaps FC 2 (2-0) last Saturday at Swangard Stadium.

ACADEMY UPDATE
The Quakes Academy Boys U13s (W 5-0) and U14s (W 5-1) defeated Cal Odyssey on Saturday. On Sunday, the U13s and U14s took on Napa United, earning 4-0 and 2-0 victories, respectively. The U15s (W 4-1) and U17s (L 2-1) played at Seattle Sounders FC.
