Earthquakes Face LA Galaxy in California Clasico Tonight at PayPal Park

SAN JOSE, Calif. - The San Jose Earthquakes (3-6-1; 10 pts.) will face the LA Galaxy (6-3-0; 18 pts.) in the California Clasico at PayPal Park tonight at 7:00 p.m. PT,presented by Sutter Health. The match will be broadcast nationally on UniMás, TUDN and Twitter, as well as on local radio in English and Spanish via KNBR 1050 and 1370 KZSF, respectively.
The California Clasico is the Bay Area's premier summer sporting event. Typically held at Stanford Stadium around the Fourth of July, the match drew more than 50,000 fans every year between 2012-19. This year's iteration was moved to PayPal Park, where the club will welcome a full-capacity crowd for the first time since March 2020 while retaining much of the beloved festivities.
Tonight's match will feature skydivers pregame as well as a halftime ceremony honoring hundreds of frontline workers that helped guide the local community through the Covid-19 pandemic. San Jose and LA have the most storied rivalry in Major League Soccer, as the charter members of MLS have met in the regular season 74 times, in the postseason 10 times, and at MLS Cup 2001. The Quakes hold a 4-2-1 record in their last seven matches against the Galaxy, although the SoCal side prevailed 1-0 in LA last month.
