Seattle Sounders FC News Release

With 24 points through the first 10 games of the season - a club record in the MLS era - first-place Sounders FC (7-0-3, 24 points) hosts Cascadia rival Vancouver Whitecaps FC (2-6-1, 7 points) on Saturday evening at Lumen Field (6:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, Prime Video, Univision-Seattle, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM). Seattle is the eighth team in MLS history to start a season with at least 10 games unbeaten.

Seattle's Raúl Ruidíaz scored his eighth goal of the season in Wednesday's home win vs. RSL, level with the Galaxy's Javier Hernández for the lead for the MLS Golden Boot.

Sounders FC is 14-7-6 all-time against Whitecaps FC in MLS regular-season play and is unbeaten in the last nine matches (7-0-2) in the series. The two sides have met 143 times across all competitions dating back to 1974, with Seattle leading that series 70-50-23.

All five goals conceded by Sounders FC in 2021 have come from set pieces (two by direct free kicks, three via penalty kick). The Rave Green are the only team in the league yet to concede a goal through open play this season, leading MLS with a 0.50 goals against average and second five shutouts (Philadelphia).

Sounders FC returns to action next Sunday, July 4 with a road match against the Colorado Rapids (6:00 p.m. PT / JOEtv, Prime Video, 950 KJR AM, El Rey 1360 AM).
