Sarnia Sting News Release

The Sarnia Sting visited the Owen Sound Attack on Wednesday night.

In the first period, it took about twenty seconds for us to get on the board. Sting forward Hugo Leufvenius scored his team-leading tenth goal of the season. Leufvenius took a pass down low from linemate Jacob Perreault. Our power forward then tucked into a sick toe drag around the defender before burying the puck past Attack goalie Mack Guzda. Just like that, it was 1-0.

Sting goaltender Ethan Langevin made an outstanding stretched-out toe save when Attack forward Jackson Doherty came in on a breakaway.

Kevin Hancock and Nick Suzuki each scored for Owen Sound to give the home side a 2-1 lead after the first frame.

In the second, we were scoreless until very late. Attack defenceman Brady Lyle scored off a powerplay point shot with twenty seconds to go in the period. Heading into the third, Owen Sound held a 3-1 advantage.

Moving into the third, the Attack continued to pressure. Trenton Bourque, Kaleb Pearson, and Daylon Groulx scored for Owen Sound. Tonight's final score was 6-1.

Langevin stopped twenty-six of thirty-two shots against. The official box score can be viewed here.

We return to action on Friday night at home against the Oshawa Generals! It'll be the lone time the Gens visit Progressive Auto Sales Arena this season. We'll see you there!
