Colorado Eagles News Release
ORLANDO, Fla. -The Colorado Eagles (13-6-3-0) were taken down, 4-3, by the Orlando Solar Bears (13-9-0-1) at the Amway Center on Sunday afternoon.
The Eagles got off on the right foot as forward Jonathan Parker tucked it home off a rebound from the endwall to give Colorado the 1-0 lead, 5:25 into the first period. Solar Bears forward Zach Harrison chipped the puck over Eagles netminder Adam Brown to tie the score, 1-1, with less than six minutes left in the first.
Almost three minutes into the second frame, Orlando forward Mike Ullrich capitalized on a power-play to put the Solar Bears ahead 2-1. Colorado answered less than two minutes later as forward Jesse Mychan tied the score again 2-2.
Colorado forward Greg Gardner put the Eagles up, 3-2, on an unassisted breakaway just about halfway through the final frame. But, Harrison tied the score for the Solar Bears, 3-3, with his second goal of the game 17:28 into the third. Not even thirty seconds later Olando's Scott Tanski bested Brown and the Solar Bears pulled ahead for the 4-3 win.
