December 8, 2013 - ECHL (ECHL)
Las Vegas Wranglers News Release
Las Vegas - The Las Vegas Wranglers fell 6-2 to the San Francisco Bulls this afternoon in the team's annual Teddy Bear Toss, a game in which 6,529 fans brought stuffed animals to throw onto the ice to benefit Sunrise Acres Elementary School.
San Francisco opened up scoring with a power play goal from right wing Chris Crane less than seven minutes into the contest. Bulls forward Tyler Gron posted a follow-up goal to put the Wranglers in a 2-0 hole at the end of the first. Two more unanswered goals came in the second, from Bulls left wing Brett Findlay and forward Adrian Foster, making it a 4-0 game for San Francisco.
Wranglers forward Matt Tassone triggered the go-ahead goal for the team's Teddy Bear Toss at the seven-minute mark of the third period. With four minutes left in the game, Wranglers defenseman Eddie DelGrosso scored a shorthanded goal to cut the Bulls' lead to 4-2, but San Francisco responded with an empty net goal off the stick of defenseman Dylan King and an even-strength goal from right wing Dale Mitchell. With a final score of 6-2, San Francisco took the first of just three total games between the two teams. The stuffed animals from the game will be given to the elementary school to help their students celebrate the holidays.
The Wranglers head to Colorado for three games against the Eagles starting Wednesday, Dec. 11. On Friday, Dec. 13, the Wranglers will host a viewing party at Scooter's Pub, home of the team's road games. Non-traveling players will be watching the game with fans, and free raffle tickets will be given out for prizes. The game starts at 6:05 p.m.
