Dynamo Forward Erick Torres Called up to Mexico's U-23 National Team Camp

HOUSTON - Dynamo forward Erick Torres has been called up by Mexico U-23 national team head coach Raul Gutierrez for a camp beginning Sunday in Mexico City. The camp runs through Jan. 13 as Mexico prepares for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.

Torres starred in his last U-23 callup, helping El Tri defend its CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championship title in October. The Guadalajara native scored three goals and was named to the tournament's Best XI team by the CONCACAF Technical Study Group. Torres, 22, is the only player to feature in each of the last two CONCACAF Olympic Qualifying Championships.

The Dynamo open preseason on Jan. 25 and will visit Tucson, Arizona twice as part of season preparations. The club opens its 11th season on March 6 at BBVA Compass Stadium against the New England Revolution.
