Sacramento River Cats News Release

West Sacramento, Calif. - The Sacramento River Cats (40-50) could not hold on to a seventh-inning 4-2 lead, falling 7-5 to the Albuquerque Isotopes (42-48) to split the series on Sunday.

Two former Miami Marlins combined to knock in four runs for Sacramento. Second baseman Isan Díaz notched his first four-hit game as a River Cat while right fielder Austin Dean reached base in all four plate appearances.

Díaz plated center fielder Heliot Ramos for the game's first run and Dean doubled the lead in the first when he knocked in first baseman Jason Krizan.

After Albuquerque tied the game in the top of the second, the Marlins duo again regained Sacramento the lead with two-out RBI singles. Díaz knocked in designated hitter Donovan Walton before Dean made it 4-2 by plating third baseman Jason Vosler.

Right-hander Tristan Beck had a solid outing, leaving with a chance for his fourth win. The 26-year-old struck out four while allowing two runs on four hits and no walks in 5.0 innings.

The seventh inning proved to be the River Cats' undoing as a home run, an error, a triple, a double, a walk, and a single led to four runs and a 6-4 Albuquerque lead.

The River Cats will head into the midseason break and enjoy four days off before going to Oklahoma City to take on the Dodgers at 5:05 p.m. (PT) on Friday. Listen to Johnny Doskow call the game online at rivercats.com or on the MiLB First Pitch app.
