VIVE LA JP: JP France tossed a season-high seven scoreless innings Saturday, allowing just one hit and walk while striking out seven. France is tied for first in the PCL with 97 strikeouts and is fifth with a 4.25 ERA. His 11.76 strikeouts-per-nine-innings is second-best of Triple A pitchers (min. 70 IP).France was named the Space Cowboys June Player of the Month, leading the Pacific Coast League in strikeouts (63), finishing third in WHIP (0.97), fifth in ERA (2.92) and eighth in opponent's batting average (.220) during the month.
NIFTY NICK: Nick Hernandez worked a scoreless 10th inning in Saturday's win to receive the winning decision. Hernandez has a 2.97 ERA (13 ER/39.1 IP) with the Space Cowboys this season and has been scoreless in 26 of his 31 appearances.
