Sarnia Sting News Release
The Ontario Hockey League today announced that goaltender Taylor Dupuis of the Sarnia Sting is the Pioneer Energy OHL Player of the Week for the week ending November 30 after posting a 3-0-0-0 record with a goals-against-average of 1.67 and save percentage of .950.
Dupuis becomes the first goaltender to earn the award this season after backstopping the Sting to three victories last week as part of the club's season-high five-game winning streak. He stopped 95 shots in three games beginning last Wednesday night with a 32-save performance to earn first star honours in a 3-1 win over the Saginaw Spirit. Dupuis then earned second star honours on Friday with 28 saves as part of a 2-1 win over the Owen Sound Attack, and wrapped up his week Sunday with 35 saves in a 4-3 win over the Kingston Frontenacs. Sunday's victory boosts the Sting to a 13-11-1-1 record for second place in the West Division standings.
Dupuis, a 20-year-old from New Liskeard, ON, is playing in his third OHL season and second with the Sting after beginning his career with the Sudbury Wolves. The overage netminder currently holds an 8-4-0-0 record with a league-high save percentage of .932 and a goals-against-average of 2.34 which ranks fourth in the league.
