Altoona struck for five runs in the first three innings and then held on to beat the Senators 5-2 at FNB Field Thursday night. Harrisburg rallied in the eighth inning for two runs and left the bases loaded. The Senators bullpen pitched four scoreless innings allowing just two hits and striking out six.
Ronald Herrera started and went the first five innings allowing eight hits and five runs. He struck out four and walked one. He allowed a couple home runs. Brian Gonzalez went two frames and struck out two and walked two in only facing eight batters. Matt Brill and Reid Schaller both pitched scoreless innings facing just three batters in each inning.
Jack Dunn had two hits including the two-run single. Harrisburg sent eight batters to the plate in the eighth inning with three walks and two hits.
The Senators went one-for-four with runners in scoring position. The Senators lost their fifth straight game Thursday night.
