
Duffy's Slam Gives BlueClaws Win

LAKEWOOD, N.J. - Four batters into the game, the BlueClaws took a four-run lead on the Savannah Sand Gnats, and didn't look back en route to an 8-1 win Saturday night.
Chris Duffy went 4-for-4 and hit his second grand slam in seven days to give Lakewood the early lead. He is now hitting .377 and has 39 RBI in 46 games this season. The grand slam was his sixth homer of 2012.
Moises Rivas made his first start for Lakewood and allowed just a single run in the 3rd inning. He collected the win with six innings of one-run ball.
The BlueClaws and Sand Gnats will battle in Game 2 of the series Sunday evening. Ethan Stewart (4-8, 3.49) will battle Savannah's Domingo Tapia (4-2, 3.65).
