Long Island Ducks News Release
(Central Islip, N.Y., May 30, 2013) - The Long Island Ducks were defeated by the Camden Riversharks 6-3 on Thursday night in the final game of a two-game series at Bethpage Ballpark.
Long Island struck right away for two runs in the first off Camden starter Jeff Farnsworth on RBI doubles from Joash Brodin and Bryant Nelson. The Riversharks pulled even with single runs in the second and third off Ducks starter Nick DeBarr. A solo home run by Eduardo Perez and a sac fly to center by Paddy Matera highlighted the scoring.
Adam Bailey immediately answered in the bottom of the third with a solo blast to right-center to put the Ducks back in front.
However, Camden tied the game in the fifth on a sac fly to right by Delwyn Young and took the lead in the sixth on Chris Walker's RBI fielder's choice. A solo homer by Raul Padron and a run-scoring error in the eighth extended the lead to three.
