SUGAR LAND, TX - The Sugar Land Skeeters announced today that Skeeters infielder Chase Lambin has signed with the Kansas City organization and will join its Triple A Omaha club. The announcement was made by Skeeters Manager Gary Gaetti and Director of Operations Michael Kirk.

Lambin, 33, played 24 games with Sugar Land this year, hitting at a .305 (29x95) clip with five home runs and 13 RBI. Despite a brief stint on the Disabled List in May, he assisted in leading the Skeeters to a 30-9 record to start 2013 and posting one of the highest winning percentages in professional baseball.

Originally a 34th round pick of the New York Mets in the June 2002 Draft, Lambin played 89 games with Miami's Triple A New Orleans last year. He hit .253 (63x249) with eight home runs and 32 RBI on the season. A native of Houston, Texas and a former Cypress Falls High School standout, Lambin owns a career .270 (1065x3949) average with 224 doubles, 121 homers and 528 RBI in 1,193 minor league games.

Lambin is the third member of Sugar Land's 2013 club and 13th overall to be signed by a Major League organization. Last season, Sugar Land witnessed 10 players move from its roster to an affiliated Major League club, including current Cleveland Indians pitcher Scott Kazmir. Lambin's signing also marks the 16th overall Skeeters player to move from the Atlantic League to another professional baseball league since Opening Day 2012.
