Charleston Dirty Birds News Release
Charleston, WV (April 13, 2008) - The Greenville Drive were held scoreless through seven innings of Sunday's game at Appalachian Power Park but scored three times in the top of the eighth inning and won their fifth game in a row, defeating the West Virginia Power 3-1.
West Virginia scored their only run on John Alonso's inside-the-park homerun in the bottom of the second. In the eighth, Mike Jones singled to score Che-Hsuan Lin and tie the game before David Mailman delivered a two-run single later in the inning to put the Drive ahead.
Ryne Lawson (1-0) allowed just three hits over three scoreless innings of relief to get the victory and Rob Bryson (0-1) was tagged with the loss. Amaury Rivas started the game for the Power and tossed five scoreless innings of three hit ball with four strikeouts.

West Virginia has been held to four runs on 16 hits against the Drive.
The Power will finish the four game series with the Greenville Drive at Appalachian Power Park on Monday morning.
