Driussi, Hoesen Score as Austin FC Comes Back to Draw FC Dallas
June 25, 2022 - Major League Soccer (MLS)
Austin FC News Release
Austin, TEXAS - Goals from Sebastián Driussi and Danny Hoesen helped Austin FC erase a two-goal deficit and earn a 2-2 draw against FC Dallas in front of a sold-out crowd of 20,738 at Q2 Stadium on Saturday night. Driussi's goal was his ninth of the season, tied for the most in Major League Soccer.
Chances were hard to come by in the first half. Maxi Urruti nearly scored from outside the penalty area with a shot that went inches wide in the 17th-minute, and Julio Cascante made a tremendous last-ditch tackle to deny Dallas' Alan Velalsco at the half-hour mark.
Arriola put the visitors ahead in the 58th-minute, reacting quickest to a rebound in the area. Servania doubled the lead 10 minutes later. Driussi pulled Austin FC back into the match in short order, beating two defenders and the goalkeeper with a clever low finish from Moussa Djitté's assist.
Hoesen then completed the comeback in the 85th-minute, powering in a header from a pinpoint Nick Lima cross to ensure the sides shared the spoils on the night.
