Dynamo Earn Three Points at Home

(on today's game) "It was a commanding victory. Overall, a good performance for both halves. The first half, we were more dangerous in the final third. Second half, we managed the game a little bit more, but I'm pleased with the performance overall-created a lot of chances could have scored a couple of more but very pleased with the way the team responded after last week's game."

(on how important it is to get three points at home) "We talk about it, how important it is to have a positive home record-a very good home record. It's important for us to put ourselves in a good position to fight for the playoffs. In the first half of the season, I think we were okay. I think we could have done much better and that's what our focus leading into the second half of the season is, to be very, very good at home. Because we know how difficult it is to get points on the road, this game was huge in that aspect. The guys responded really well."

(on the performance of the younger players that played today) "The guys were very solid, the younger guys, the senior guys, I think we have a very good mix of players. With the team that we put together today especially, in the first half I think they have a good chemistry. I think that showed on the field. I think you know me by now, that if younger player is doing well and they are performing in training and they can help the team, I am going to put them to play. So, if doesn't matter if they are 17, 16, 18 or 35, 36 they will play as long as in my opinion they will help the team win the game when it comes to game time."

(on if it's a challenge on deciding whether or not to start FW Darwin Quintero) "No, of course, (FW) Darwin (Quintero) is a great player. He's not an 18-year-old anymore, so it's about managing the player as well because it's difficult for Darwin to play three games in a week and play the full 90 minutes. I think we are doing a good job of that. We are making the most out of Darwin's time and I think it's paying off on the field. We try to create a structure in the team that he can play his soccer, his best soccer and also help the team win games and I don't think it's difficult. I think Darwin understands his role with the team. He's been very, very committed for this club since I arrived here and as long as he is like that, he's always going to have a great chance to play."

(sobre qué le hace falta al equipo) "Creo que lo que más necesitamos es tener consistencia para llegar donde queremos llegar que es a los playoffs. No podemos tener juegos malos, juegos buenos, no podemos ser irregulares. Esta liga es muy competitiva, pero de la misma manera si tienes dos o tres resultados victoriosos enseguida te pones arriba en la tabla de posiciones. Esa es la consistencia que estamos buscando".

(sobre qué tan importante fue cortar la racha de tres derrotas) "Muy importante, porque necesitamos ser muy fuertes en casa, ganar en casa nos da confianza para viajar a Portland y sacar un resultado positivo allá. Es una liga muy pareja, se pueden obtener buenos resultados donde sea si hay la concentración, si trabajamos. Podemos pelear por cosas mejores si seguimos así y logramos buenos resultados esta semana ante Portland y Charlotte".

(sobre qué saca de este partido) "Hay días en los cuales el rebote del balón va directo al pie del jugador, hay días en que eso no ocurre, Hay días en que el jugador puede controlar bien el balón y la mete, días en los que no puede controlar el balón. Creo que lo que saco de este partido es el compromiso que tenían todos los jugadores de ganarlo. Me deja muy feliz que los jugadores entraron concentrados, enfocados y cuando entran así somos un equipo mucho mejor".

(sobre que importante es hilvanar una seguidilla triunfadora antes de la incorporación de Héctor Herrera) "Es importante, porque con dos o tres victorias seguidas subes muy rápido en la tabla de posiciones y eso es lo que queremos hacer antes de que se incorpore Héctor (Herrera). Sabemos que cuando él llegue seremos un mejor equipo. Eso está claro. Necesitamos colocar al equipo en la mejor posición posible ahora porque nos viene ese refuerzo".

(sobre qué aportará Héctor Herrera al equipo) "Héctor nos ayudará mucho con la consistencia, el rendimiento, el desempeño del equipo. Es un jugador que esperamos que nos dará mucha calidad en la media cancha. Nos dará versatilidad, de jugar con 1y 2 o 2 y 1. Con los jugadores que tenemos el equipo puede ser muy balanceado y además complica a los rivales cuando traten defenderse de nosotros porque tenemos la posibilidad de jugar diferente".

(on today's game) "Pretty tough game. Chicago came to play their game and we are grateful that we were able to score first and dictate the pace of the game."

(on how the team feels after the FIFA break) "This was a win we needed. We have three games this week and we need to get as many points as possible."

(on how important this victory is for the team) "This is huge, very important. It helps us gain confidence and know that we have what it takes to play very good football."

(sobre qué tan importante es esta victoria para el equipo) "Importantísima anímicamente, sirve para tomar confianza y saber que tenemos con qué jugar un muy buen fútbol".

(on celebrating his 100th game) "It's very special and I felt enormous pride. When you are in it you don't think about it as much but then someone told me that I played 100 games - it's kind of a big deal and I didn't realize it. I was filled with pride and a huge thing for me and my family. We have been here for four years and ever since we came here, it felt like home. To be able to play one hundred games for this club, we have been through ups and downs. Those were the most important years of my 20s, I spent them here in Houston so it means a lot. It was a very nice gesture from the club and organization. My wife and I are very happy about it."

(on getting the win) "It's huge. We have a big week in front of us. We played away from home a lot now. Just to be back in front of our fans and get back to winning ways was huge and we spoke about it a lot while getting back in the playoffs."

(on his assist) "As a defender, you kind of have to look at the game as the glass half empty. I was kind of like running, preparing and thinking that if something happened, I had to be there. When the ball was over my head, I was trying to get in position, when I saw it Darwin (Ceren) was close to finishing it, but then he missed it. I saw it and tried to get the ball away as far as possible, but I was very fortunate to be in the right place and the right time."
