SEATTLE, WASH. - Sounders FC (7-6-2, 23 points) earned its fifth win in the club's last seven matches with a 3-0 victory over Sporting Kansas City (4-10-4, 16 points) on Saturday afternoon at Lumen Field. In front of a crowd of 33,380 and a national television audience on ABC, Seattle rode goals from Will Bruin, Jordan Morris and Cristian Roldan to the win. Today's match was the fourth of five home games in a row for the Rave Green, with the club capturing three wins and a draw so far in that span.

Bruin put Seattle on the board in the eighth minute with his second goal of the season and 76th of his MLS career. Defender Jackson Ragen sent a long diagonal pass to the right flank for Alex Roldan, who laid the ball off to his brother Cristian for a cross to the far post that found Bruin for a header. Bruin's 76 career goals in MLS regular season play rank ninth among active players, two behind Jozy Altidore for eighth. Both Roldans were credited with assists on the play, giving them each four on the season in MLS play.

Morris joined the action in the 71st minute, with Nicolás Lodeiro feeding a ball to Nouhou on the left flank, who lofted a cross that found the head of Morris. Morris headed the ball back across the face of goal and into the back of the net, doubling the home side's lead. It was the Mercer Island native's sixth goal across all competitions in 2022.

Seattle struck again in the 76th minute on a beautiful piece of team play. Léo Chú soared through the midfield, sneaking a pass through two SKC defenders to Morris, who then skimmed the ball across the turf to Roldan, who easily finished into the open net. It was Roldan's 31st career MLS goal for Seattle and third this year.

Making his 300th career appearance for Sounders FC across all competitions, goalkeeper Stefan Frei recorded his 89th career shutout in MLS play. Frei becomes the second Sounders FC player in the MLS era to reach 300 appearances, joining Osvaldo Alonso (339). Dating back to 1974, the only player to accumulate more appearances than Frei or Alonso is "Mr. Sounder" Zach Scott, who tallied 352 prior to his retirement after the 2016 MLS season.

The Rave Green conclude their five-match homestand on Wednesday, June 29 with a matchup against Eastern Conference side CF Montreal at Lumen Field, with kickoff slated for 7:00 p.m. PT (FOX 13+, Prime Video, 93.3. KJR FM, El Rey 1360 AM).

MATCH NOTES

The club won its first two matches of the homestand against Charlotte (May 29) and Vancouver (June 14), followed by a 1-1 draw with LAFC (June 18) and today's win over Sporting.
